I’ve always had this dream, ever since I was little, to be a librarian or bookstore owner. I remember always bugging my sisters to play “librarian”, and they would come to buy or rent books from me. My mother never discouraged me, if anything she encouraged me. She thought it was a wonderful idea and I flew with it for a long time. I always read in my spare time. I remember getting in so much trouble once when I was in about sixth grade. I was failing my math class and My mom had just seen my report card when she came into my room and found me hiding under my covers with a flashlight reading “The Secret Garden.” My baby album is full of pictures of me in corners, under tables, in private forts reading books. I don’t know what it is I just love to read. I love the feeling of the worn pages between my fingers. I love the smell of old books, I enjoy learning new things and seeing history come to life in my head, to see fairy tales in my dreams and to fall in love with the hero. I have a soft spot for books, that’s why I won’t buy a kindle (I’m that silly). I still dream about owning my own bookshop someday, but right now it seems like God has something bigger planned for me. It’s a bit upsetting, but i’m willing to set my dream aside while God uses me in another direction. I wish things could go my way, but I am so excited to see what God has planned for me!
